April 7 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
The singing of a Requiem Mass in Lent has a long tradition in liturgical worship. Not only does it point us to Christ’s own sacrifice of death for our sins, but also to the hope of eternal life given to us through His own death and resurrection. The composer Faure’ himself said, “My Requiem does not express a fear of death, in fact one reviewer called it a lullaby of death. And it is thus that I see death as a happy deliverance, an aspiration toward eternal happiness above.” The Parish Choir with orchestra will offer this work of outstanding lovely melodies and powerful musical expressions on Sunday, April 7 at the 10:30 a.m. service.
